My ‘Seas the Day 2021’ Advisor Retreat Recap
I am always totally rejuvenated whenever I am with like-minded women. Last weekend, I hosted an advisor retreat for my team as well as many other Creative Memories women that wanted to grow alongside us. Due to COVID-19, I decided to add a virtual attendance option. This event caused me to STRETCH because, tech-savvy, I AM NOT.
I needed to figure out how I could host a quality event for 43 in-person advisors while also training 111 ladies from every corner of the USA as well as Canada! It was one of those things that I decided to do without even thinking how I could do it!
After much personal prayer, and prayers that went up from my networking group, my friends, and my teammates, the event was one that left my cup so full that it is running over!
My event started off with a talk on rechanneling your brain to always think the BEST. It was a talk on being grateful, no matter what. After some serious ups and downs in my personal life, I have learned the hard way that you can’t let hardships, disappointments, nor tragedies put your life on a downward spiral! I was one of the lucky ones that saw it happening, and decided to put my hand up to it all! To have a lot of faith and know that good things were coming my way!
As businesswomen, trying to do it all, it’s easy to have a ‘woe is me’ mentality when things don’t go right! But my message was to NOT TO LET THINGS GET YOU DOWN! My message was about our ability to “SEAS the DAY” despite the pandemic. Our business was MADE to SURVIVE this pandemic! We have been social distancing with 6 ft tables LONG before this pandemic and crop events do just as well on Zoom! My clients kind of LIKE using Zoom to crop. They get to see all their friends, get ideas, AND scrapbook without leaving the house!
The women that came to be fed at our retreat were women who wanted MORE from their businesses. Some were paralyzed by not knowing how to run a SOCIAL business in the midst of a pandemic. Some didn’t believe in themselves. Others were SUPERSTARS, attending like superstars always do, just trying to get ONE MORE NUGGET to move them closer to their goals. It was so powerful to see needs being met and lives being changed.
I love that my business is giving me the opportunity to share my heart and soul with kindred women who believe that what we are doing is so important. Women who GET IT that a printed photograph is magical. Women who GET IT that this business can open doors for others in so many ways.
What a blessing it is that MY CAREER, which has offered our family so much financial stability, looks so different from a traditional high-paying job. Retreats with teammates and clients are often the highlight of my year. I schedule them around MY life instead of being TOLD that I can’t by an employer. My day job often is spent scrapbooking in my office that is actually a craft room. Other days, I spend with clients that I call friends sharing page layouts, tool techniques, and helping them with THEIR scrapbooks. Typically, we enjoy lunch and dinner together, too! I love that though I work almost every day, it is just fun to me. I have a hard time calling it “work”!
Today, I am grateful for my clients and teammates that have been a part of MY CREATIVE MEMORIES FAMILY and this crazy journey. For the ups AND downs. For personal growth. For your friendships. I’m looking forward to an amazing year TOGETHER. Seas the Day 2021!
